In this lesson we started on the Seven Seas Of Rhye. Kat had asked Emily, Luke and myself to think about some ideas before hand as we happened to be at college early that day so we went into the theatre and started o come up with some material.
In this number Khashoggi is singing about how he has control over all of the bohemians and how he will get what he wants from them whether they like it or not. As the show has a sort of technology sci-fi feel to it, I came up with the idea that the imprisoned bohemians would be in forcefield like beams which would be like a spotlight in theatre aspects and that their movements should be jagged and manipulated by him including reaches like they can't control what they are doing and need help. This fit well to the beginning section to the music as it has a obvious beat within it that could fit.
We also came up with the idea that at the end we should all go a bit loopy as if we have finally been brain washed spinning and looking around within the climax of the song before falling back into our zones and sitting on the floor dazed singing oh i do like to be beside the seaside swaying. We couldn't really think of a main chorus section but luckily Kat had done that and she liked the sound of the ideas we had com up with so we combined them and then added some other small bits to it.
As my character is involved in this song I got really into making sure my dynamics were effective within the isolated movement and reaches as well as showing that was lost and didn't know what to do, showing how we were losing control to khashoggi which is the theme of this particular number.
